Today we attended a webcast with Sage’s Dennis Frahmann, EVP for Marketing, in which he discussed the Sage product rebranding initiative, including:
As you may have heard, this summer, Sage announced plans to re-name many of its software products, in order to build the Sage brand, help customers identify with Sage rather than the individual products, and create a more consistent identification with the Sage “master brand.” Increasing awareness of the Sage name and brand helps Sage (and by extension, Sage partners like Blytheco) grow its business and add more customers.
In a nutshell:
Sage CRM products like SageCRM and SalesLogix will not be changing names at this time. The Sage ERP X3 product line will also retain its name. For a complete list of Sage products making a name transition click here.
The functionality of the products will not change with the re-naming. Customers will begin to see information about the name changes beginning in January, and will begin to see the new names as they renew maintenance and support plans and receive upgrades in the second half of 2012.
We are helping to facilitate a seamless transition for our customers, partners and community. As you can see if you click the links above, we are working to begin incorporating the new names into our communications with you. Stephen Blythe and other Blytheco leaders are working closely with Sage to help them make this process easy for partners and customers. We’re optimistic that in the long-term, this effort will mean more strength for Sage in the marketplace.
