Sage Summit and the DC Market

If you are attending Sage Summit, and would rather not spend millions of dollars on water, there is a CVS down the street as well as the most adorable Potomac Gourmet Market down the street. At CVS you can pick up any items you may have inadvertently left out of your bag and the beauty of it is, it’s less than a 5 minute walk (a straight shot) from the hotel.

The market has great little items like prepared sandwiches, wraps and salads for a fraction of the cost of purchasing something at the Gaylord.  Other items like fresh fruit (something great to have in your room for a quick pick-me-up) or if you are looking for something a little more fun like a bottle of wine with some bread and cheese to enjoy with other Sage Summit friends you have met, are just a step away and a more economical way to enjoy your stay here.

I also happened to check out the Irish bar and kitchen down the street from the hotel (on the way to the market and CVS). They have great sandwiches and a full bar. They have live music from 7-10 and then a DJ that comes in until 2 am. Their last call is at 2:30 but they are open until 3AM. If you are up and need a place to go, they may be a good place to stumble.

If you are looking to spend a few more dollars and would like a quiet enjoyable meal, I recommend the Old Hickory Steak House. It is your traditional steak house, and while you won’t find any surprises at the establishment, sometimes you don’t want any surprises when you are going to have an evening out with friends.
